Hello,

Perhaps you can help me (again ^^).

I am desperately trying to download the 22min featurette of The Reader (link: http://trailers.apple.com/trailers/weinstein/thereader) but even though I tried different methods and I always end up with a file of 86 bytes in size. I can’t download it with jDownloader either and I can’t file the file anywhere else.

So if you have the solution to my problem it would be very kind of you .

This kind of problems happens in all cheap web hostings. DreamHost is transparent that’s why giving details of attacks. No other host will give inside details. Anyway, if you are not happy with DreamHost, you should change the hosting.

We’ve actually noticed that in Chrome and Safari (even without the ?dl=1), the download would just work. Maybe it’s because both are based off WebKit.

However, it’ll fail to download in Firefox, IE, and other browsers / download utilities.

An extremely simple method –
1. Copy link of the apple trailer
2. Paste link into browser url bar and add “?dl=1″ after.

For instance, the resulting link should resemble this:
http://trailers.apple.com/movies/ifc_films/berberiansoundstudio/berberiansoundstudio-tlr_h1080p.mov?dl=1

Browser will start downloading the QT movie. Only tested this in Chrome, should work across all browsers.

Given that we actually list this featurette on our main trailer page, something else must be going on. Before going any further, I just wanted to make sure you knew that these links expire in a couple minutes. Your link actually looks alright, but I wouldn't be able to open it since the link's expired. 2nd, try opening this link in your browser and see if you can get the featurette to download. (note: the link won't work in JDownloader)

I followed your tutorial and it seems it doesn’t work with every trailers. I am looking for the Silver Linings Playbook 12min featurette found on this link (http://movies.yahoo.com/video/silver-linings-playbook-deniro-featurette-230016797.html) in 1080p.

Ah, you can’t debug facebook URLs, only your personal pages where you’ve added a Like button.

Thanks for trying to help by posting your suggestion but when I went to the Facebook URL Linter and entered the URL to my Facebook page, I received an error message ‘Facebook URLs aren’t scrapable by this Debugger. Try your own.’ I am now totally confused. Any thoughts? I already sent a message to Facebook.

I don’t actually make the assumption you have any idea of what RTMP or RTMP Capture Tools or RTMPDump is. but I do make the assumption that you would know how to download a tool after giving you their homepage.
